Important FRC Info

Teams,

Just a few reminders:
1. The Gwinnett Center Lunch Pre-Orders are due no later than Thursday, February 25th.
2. The Team Social Food Order forms and payments are due no later than Friday, February 26th.
We also have an exciting addition to the Team Social. There will be a local vendor on-site, during the social, to sell 2010 Peachtree Regional shirts. Wouldn't everyone like to have a memento from this wonderful event to wear back home and show your robotic pride? All of the shirts will have the Breakaway game logo on the front. You can see the logo in the attached file. The items to choose from will include:
1. Sweatshhirts
2. T-shirts (long and shortsleeve)
3. Tye Dye Shirts (long and short sleeve)
4. Sweatpants

The prices will range from $15 to $55. For a small charge, you can also add your team name and number to the back of the shirt. After you choose the shirt you prefer, they will custom print the back during the social.

Don't forget the last minute details as the build season winds down. Jeremy Roberts sent out a very informative message a few days ago to assist you in these last few days. Be sure to review this several times before the Tuesday ship date arrives to make sure you are ready.

See you soon at the Peachtree!

GA FTC Results

Congratulations to Team 676 Winning the THINK Award! They may be invited to the World Championship in April; they are in the tier 3 lottery!  Way to GO RoboChic!
GSMST teams worked hard to compete yesterday despite technical issues.

The rankings of our teams after the qualifying rounds were as follows:
Team 2981 ranked 6th!
Team 2993 ranked 14th
Team 3820 ranked 19th
Team 676 ranked 22nd
Team 3812 ranked 24th

Despite ranking 6th after the qualifying round, team 2981 was not selected as an alliance and did not compete in the elimination matches.

Team Soup 1848 (Georgia Robotic Alliance) is the winning alliance captain and will advance to World.

The other winning alliance teams are Team 3701 (Hancock High School, Kiln, MS) and Team 3715 (Hancock High School, Kiln, MS).

The Inspire Award went to Team 710 (Mariners from Jasper's North Georgia Christian Academy); apparently, this is their 3rd consecutive win for this award!)

I would like to applaud all GSMST teams for their gracious professionalism; they all stayed till the end of the matches and the award ceremony!

I would like to recognize and thank Ted for his hours of mentoring for all the teams prior and during the competition! The teams appreciate his guidance and support throughout this season.

Crunch time for FRC team

Folks:
The Junior team 3318 has been heads down and working hard on their robot, I have been dropping in on them and dragging along a few Cisco engineers to help, as well the machinists in the shop and their manager Gary Cardinal have sort of bonded with the kids . Here is the link to the photos that have been taken so far – the team seems to be too busy to post them to the GSMST website http://picasaweb.google.com/spam224/SecondWeekend#5430079270166928514 (yes I am a little biased in which photo I started with : )  )
It is now crunch time for the team and they will be working hard to this weekend to get their robot ready for pick-up on Feb 22nd. We need to thank Mr. Allen who has offered his skills to help build the shipping crate for the robot. Those of you who are not travelling with the FTC teams to TN who wish to drop by to help or encourage the FRC team may do so this weekend (hopefully snow gone by that time). The shop is located at 1100 Oakland drive in Lawrenceville. Ring the door bell to get one of us to let you in (as we are way back in the warehouse). The team will be working on the robot from 9 to 9 on the weekend.

5 FTC teams Qualified for State

Team Soup 1848 was in the winning alliance with Team 710 from North GA Christian Academy in Jasper.

Our Pink Robo Dragon team won the Think Award, and so will advance to the State Regional. GO 676!

Team 3821/675 competed which was an accomplishment in itself considering that this team put together a functioning bot in 2 weeks!

All the award winners and finalists teams from today's qualifier advance to the State. Some have already qualified previously so there will be 3 to 4 open spots for other teams. The judge advisors will be consulted to select team numbers from all 3 qualifiers to go into a lottery to draw the remaining teams--Selections to be announced either Monday or Tuesday.
