FTC Teams Practice & Competition at GSMT on 11/21

FIRST Tech Challenge teams - here is your chance to see how well you are doing so far. Report to GSMST on Saturday, November 21st to compete against each other.  The team leaders need to be there 11:00-11:30 to help set up and the other team members should be there by noon. We will be ending at 4 PM so club members need to be picked up no later than 4:20pm.  Parents, this is a good opportunity to see what FTC is all about.

  1. What is the competition going to be? A locomotion competition? The actaul FTC challenge? Target practice?

    What is the challenge?

  2. The Competition is going to be the official FTC Challenge - Hot Shot!

  3. Based on the fact that we are missing numerous parts in most of our kits, I would call Saturday's event a practice challenge. Field elements will be in place for the students to practice on. There will not be an official competition between teams, although the status of the team's robot will be noted be by the coaches. The club will need to decide what teams to fund and to what events, so this will be their first opportunity to show the team's preparedness.

  4. I know what Hot Shot is, but what is THIS particular competition's challenge? I don't know of any teams that have any arm resemblance. Not even ours.

  5. The robots I saw on Nov 21 were really in their infancy. Didn't really see anyone driving theirs around even. No field to practice on either. A lot of progress needs to be made before the internal competition on the Dec 18th. Who will have autonomous mode working? How well will the robots do at shooting balls into the targets? Only time will tell.

  6. There were a few teams who could drive around. My team (Aidan, Nabeel, Ryo, etc), for instance, drove ours around. There were a few others, too. I really don't know their names though.
