FTC Qualifier Results/Comments
At the end of qualification rounds:
676 ranked 5th
3812 ranked 6
3820 ranked 7
3811 ranked 12
3819 ranked 13
During the Alliance selection team 676 moved up to 4th place and selected team 2858 to be their alliance partner. Similarly 3rd place team 560 selected 3812. So Thus we had 2 teams make it into the quarter final (best 2 out of 3). Alas both our teams were knocked out in the quarters finals and did not make the championship round.
Ultimately team 482 Devilbots – Wade Hampton HS, SC and their alliance partner team 315 Blackout from Anderson, SC were the winning alliance.
Several of our teams made the short list for an award but unfortunately were not chosen in the end.
Overall I am very proud of our teams, all the teams were able to put their robots on the playing field and compete including the two teams who struggled at the beginning of the day a testament to the adage ‘Never give up’. Feedback from one of the judges was that our teams had good log books and with a bit more focus on the log books our teams could have been the chosen finalist for the awards. I will share more of this feedback first hand with you and the Engineering Booster Association at our meeting on Saturday.
Regards
Sam
